Blue Mass in remembrance of September 11, sponsored by Knights of Columbus Oakland Dioceses Chapter and St. Joseph Basilica Council 15965. Blue Mass is celebrated annually throughout the United States in the Catholic Church for those employed in the "public safety field" (i.e., police officers, firefighters, corrections officers, 911 operators, EMS personnel, and even TSA). The color blue relates to the blue-colored uniforms predominately used by these services. TSA was created as a response to the September 11 attacks to improve airport security procedures and consolidate air travel security under a dedicated federal administrate law enforcement agency.

Once again the Oakland Diocese Chapter Knights of Columbus will be hosting "Feed the Athletes" event at Heather Farms Softball complex in Walnut Creek on August 27th and 28th 2022. The Special Olympics Team will be holding their annual Softball Tournament for the athletes, the first time since the beginning of Covid-19! This is a great opportunity support the community and Special Athletes serving them a hot lunch and rooting for your favorite team! Please help us support this event by your generous donation of $200.00 per council and your much needed talents the days of the event. The Athletes, Coaches and Families appreciate everything we do and welcome our support. Checks can be mailed to the address listed on the attachment and please let us know if your able to help out the day of the events. Vivat Jesus!
